I've managed to get a 450mm SDS (10) masonry bit jammed solid, going up at an angle above a door frame. I think it has got stuck at some reinforcing in a lintel. I have about 50mm still showing, but can't get the bl**dy thing to move. It's in a domestic property and the lady of the house ain't best pleased.
Any suggestions as to how I might retrieve the offending item ( and yes, I feel like a right t*t!)??????

It will be...and in time,it will move from a "talking point",to a grade1 listed feature, just like Stonehenge...let me explain...early Britain needs small flat rocks, for housing, small pointy rocks, for roads and ammunition, and, large pointy ones for showing-off/worshipping,etc. This leaves large, flat ones,as waste. Oxen can drag them, but only in a large arc,so they get tipped in a rough circle. Anticipation of further tipping means standing them up makes better use of site,Romans turn up,aims and aspirations of society change, job gets left for a while. Beardy types turn up many years later, tape off, landscape and work the PR a tad....hey presto, one mans fly-tipping becomes anothers national asset. My names peg,and i'm here all week...:49:

Sorry guys, been busy. Yep, it's still there, will not bl**dy shift! despite trying just about all the suggestions here (soz, the Thermic lance is a no go). Fortunately, it's not that noticeable (unless you know to look), but I remain totally embarrassed.
i was drilling through a concrete floor slab today and must have lifted the bit out dozens of times, fearing it would get stuck too - maybe, in time, I'll get my Mo-Jo back:dunce2:

If you know where it is due to come out then can you drill in from the other side and so free the stuck end.
If you have wrecked your SDS then can you crowbar between the chuck and the wall to pull on the drill bit, preferably from both sides at once. Will prbably wreck the wall plaster but then...
