Am I the only one? I'm stick to death of coming on here and getting told the best electricians are career changers because they paid for it themselves. 16-21 year olds are no good because they have a life outside work. This scheme worked for nearly 100 years but now it can't why? All the 6 week wonders, taxi drivers and the rest of the M.U.M'S (made up mates) can bore me with your reasons.

Problem is, the investment has all been in the wrong places - for many, many years.

I hate to say it, but I suspect Cameron is right to cap benefits. It is too easy to live a life of luxury on benefits at the moment, and I know - I watch my ex-partner doing it every day, claiming to be a single parent (while having her latest flame live with her and my children, in a house that the state pays for, but which I furnished entirely out of my own pocket), claiming that I pay her nothing for the upkeep of my children (which I do), so the CSA play rough with me (which makes me giggle), all the while denying me access to MY children, so I pay even more to solicitors who, really, do very little.

Yet, she gets taken at her word on every occasion, despite the record showing I have reported her three times now for harassment, despite the record showing every time I have smacked that little c**t she is with, was a result of me defending myself - in one case against a car driven directly at me, and in another case where he tried coming up behind me with a bat on a petrol station forecourt -= which somehow caused him to fumble and wrap it round himself....oops.

But also - the incentive is not to take work which is available, because folks end up worse off than on benefit alone - or that there is some kind of mental block that just because you've trained to do a particular kind of work, anything less is beneath you. Yeah, sure it is a come down, but surely the fact that you can put food on your family's table is worth more?

Then we get to things like the NHS, front line policing, roads, fuel costs, the cost of BASIC essential foods, and so on.

There is NO EXCUSE that these things should cost us the way they do. Every single person in the UK should have enough money to afford basic food, a roof over their heads, and the opportunity to work. We don't have that, or anything like it.

And no, I'm not arguing for communism here - but for a proper system that rewards those going out to work for their living, looks after those who GENUINELY cannot work, and penalises those lazy *******s who just cannot be bothered.

/war rant off :)

Post deleted due to accords rant. My post was not appropriate and was in reply to the spitting image post above. It was funny until Bill killed it by saying sensible things. Hope things work out for you mate.

yes i used to love watching which celeb or politician was getting it next lol spitting image would do a better job than some of these idiots

I have begged them to help me with training, funding , work, self employment but due to being a carer i am not classed as unemployed or employed lol and not on the government jobless figures all i get from them is your exempt from looking for work and there is no help of any kind and under the torys even more funding gone i am not asking for a free ride as my partner and I have had to pay for all the courses i done and the ones i wanted to do the most has ended and the other is ending soon

Like i told them i dont want there money just some help to get going self employed or work to give us a better future than the outlook we have now so i can work from home and still provide some care for the mrs

good for you I hope you can get the idiots to help you!!! after 30+ years of sparky work I retook all my exams again no probs at all but hey that does not make me a good sparky. The only way is proper training, to be shown the correct procedures and most of all that it is NOT a race remember if you get it wrong people die

Personally, my preference is for a return to old type apprenticeships - with proper education of theory :)

Agree mate but where are they going to get these apprenticeships? I trained down a big hole in the ground, as most of the guys i've worked with over the years, but they have all but gone.

Yeah - I feel the same fella.

It will take massive investment and initiative to bring it back, I know - but when you consider the number of semi-derelict buildings, council building programs, and more that are planned - they could train on all trades instead of simply paying out dole for nothing.

They could also reduce the costs of these things massively by doing so, and by keeping all public buildings fully maintained, railways, power grid, all of it. But hey, now I'm getting into nationalism - maybe I am a closet commie after all - never thought about that before lol!

citizen, in accordance with the principle: "He who does not work, neither
