To be honest it all comes down to how much confidence people have in Solar, Sadly the government have really damaged the confidence. This court case is eroding it further. We need to see the Government set out a clear plan and make their mind up in whether they will support this technololgy !! They need to do some serious publicity to win back support !!

As Barker is big on Transparency it seems the least they can do.

The problem is that, even with the revised spending cap, all the money for this year and next has already been allocated, so FiTs would have to be closed down. All DECC have up their sleeve is a 20% contingency that the Treasury allow.

I'm starting to think I want the Governments appeal upheld.

Going back to the higher rate even for a few more weeks will see a mad rush again on product and the phone Ringing off the hock for those who waved at the ship sailing in December! Not sure I could take that again.

The pot is empty now and any further delay to the cut (If not to late now) will only hit the FIT harder. Lets face it the numbers of installation already taken place is significantly higher than was to be expected even if left to April so IMO the rate after April could be lower than 21p.

It is interesting how everything I am reading at the moment such as Professional Electrician harps on about the 50% cut to the FITs and how the industry can be sustained at this rate. Nothing on the implementation of the EPC "C" grade at all. The rate isn't the issue.

It's not just EPC 'C'. It's an EPC 'C' rating OR all the viable Green Deal Recommendations to have been installed. This could mean an E rated property that has had all viable recs installed can still get FiT payments.

Regardless of the level of achievement its the total lack of media coverage of the requirement.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly the response the government are trying to get, drag it out until everybody surrenders in desperation due to lack of work, frustration and whatever else!

Got to be honest, I feel the same. All this stress and anxiety over job security etc for the sake of 2 months worth of overinflated installs before it all comes crashing down. Who's going to pick up the pieces? Anyone involved in the green deal is my bet.

As i understand it the appeal probably wont be upheld which in my opinion is the worst outcome. If we continue at 43.3 until end of March then i fully expect a FIT rate of significantly less than 21p and worst of all the 'C' rating implemented come April.

We can have an on going UK PV industry at 21p if the Govt appeal is upheld. This court case and the impending 'C' rating is much worse for the industry than the FIT cut.

If the Governments appeal is not upheld they will still have the last laugh come April.

21p until April then 16p and a 'D' rating is the best we can hope for IMHO.

A government that grows an "Us and Them" kind of attitude is the worst kind in all situations - boom or bust.

The government need to allocate more money, ditch the C rating nonsense, set the rate at 30p, introduce a seperate tariff for east/west systems and sit back and watch the rest of us build an industry while dramatically cutting CO2 emmissions.

Whoever said that moving away from fossil fuels was going to be cheap and easy? If we keep going down that path then we're going to be well and truly left behind.

Good luck with your 30p Biggs.

The Gov have decided that the future of renewables is wind. They are not happy the man on the street is profiting from the scheme due to pressure from the big 6. Wind is good becasue it produces well and makes money for the city types.

Okay, it's the big day tomorrow. Does anyone know if we will be able to watch it live or at least get some live updates?

Also, does anyone what will happen if the appeal is thrown out? Are we back on 43.3p immediately?
