I suppose its like everything else in the world, some things are cheap and some things cost you.

But then you think why?

Don't think the Metral, Di-log etc testers will still be in service ten years later.

Do you have any evidence of failures that may back up your comment, alot depends on the person using it in my opinion

I'm going to be the odd one out, I got the Metrel 3101 AT, used meggers & flukes, and would go back to Metrel now every time. Very easy to use, not complicated, they do have extra features, which is a good thing, it's all to help and make your job quicker and easier, you lot need to actually use it properly for the day and give it a try, not loose your patience after 5 mins! You'll be glad you did!

Before you all say it.... (there's always one!)
And yes it's me

I'm proud to now be a metrel owner. Lol

I do agree the older style square metrel testers were not too good, new models are completely different

sky boxes are made by different manufacturers but are the same thing unless you look at the name and realize.

Lg make the majority of LCD and flat screen TV's for most brand names including Sony apparently.

Something to think about maybe.

On ereason i'll never buy a Sony.

Why is it the likes of LG always develop the new trends and technology, then 9 months later other manufacturers come out with some better?

In the process of getting a martindale tester - it's not made by martindale!

Roberts radios, that well known British company with her majesty's seal of approval on, made by Sangean in Korea! Buy them branded as Sangean rather than Roberts and you can save yourself a fortune.

A mate's wife wanted Neff appliances in her new kitchen, when the repair man came to repair one that was faulty under the covers it had panasonic stamped all over it

Pirelli use to (and probably still do) made their expensive tyres to appeal to the rich. They also sold the same quality tyres unbranded at half the price to appeal to the budget market - cheaper than having 2 production lines.

You never know with anything. If you like and it works well for you stick with it - and don't worry about names.
