I'm going to be the odd one out, I got the Metrel 3101 AT, used meggers & flukes, and would go back to Metrel now every time. Very easy to use, not complicated, they do have extra features, which is a good thing, it's all to help and make your job quicker and easier, you lot need to actually use it properly for the day and give it a try, not loose your patience after 5 mins! You'll be glad you did!

Before you all say it.... (there's always one!)
And yes it's me

I'm proud to now be a metrel owner. Lol

I do agree the older style square metrel testers were not too good, new models are completely different

Why are you the odd one out?

As I mentioned in an earlier post I have a Metrel the Eurotest 61557
Have been using it for about eight years now only another two years to go to find out whether the 10 year automatic failure system is built into it:rolleyes:

They've got Metrels at my local college......I quite like the additional features on it, comparison with max Zs figures, programmable parameters etc.

Ive got a metrel 61557 had it 5 years now no problem at all easy to use and the firm from yorkshire who i do a little subbing for have quite a few easitests , tried a mft 1552 last month couldnt get on with it.

I was in the music industry years ago and the debate was in concern to advancing technologies with regard to music being produced on computers.

A lot of people were against it but it offered so much more with applications and ease of use and the amount of stuff in one box.

Now computers are the norm.

Is this showing a similar trait.

Agreed.

Don't know why but Metrels always remind me of a cheap toddlers V-Tech computer game :D

Which model is this?

I'm toying with getting a mi3000 as well. £339 with a 3 year warrenty. My robin brick doesn't have D Loc :(. I've read the comments on here about them, but for the amount I use it (2-3 times a month), can't really justify spending £700 on one.

From those who have one, what are they like to get on with?

Cheers

Ponty

I have the Metrel Installtest, was £150 on ebay, looks as though its been run over and used to bang rods in. But after 10 minutes with the manual the basic functions were easy to use, and I'm sure with a little more time/effort/inclination the changeable parameters will be easy enough too, but I can't be bothered at the minute. :)

Mi3000 is ok but it is the basic model, if I were you I would spend that little bit more and get the Mi3100
