Moving a meter

Hi all, I'm after some thoughts on moving a meter and main fuse, the fuse and meter is mounted on a board which is obviously screwed to the wall. There is roughly 2m of incoming armoured above ground, so what are your thoughts on pulling the fuse, disconnecting the tails coming out of the meter relocating the the board where I need it then reconnect? I know there's issues with tags but the sparky that put the new c/u has already cut both tags on the fuse and meter to upgrade tails, I can't really see any problems because I'm not having to do anything on "there" side, what are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Adam

There’s one thing that is glaringly obvious with this thread. No confirmation of the cable type.

Adam, although I never worked for a DNO, I was trained by them for LV and MV distribution system management.

Unless you know how to treat various types of “live” cable suggesting moving the meter and cable is stupid. Removing the cutout fuse will not make the incoming cable safe.

Tony, I don't think I asked a stupid question, I've never come across an issue where I have had to move the board, I know your not supposed to cut the tags but they have already been cut by the previous sparky, so would the dno really be that bothered if I moved the meter board? Is it something they would take really seriously? I don't know why your getting on your high horse, u could of just said "do it if you think you can without creating problems" or "no leave it well alone". I've not asked for any info on how to do it or anything technical so what makes you think your any more trained than I am?

 You're new here aren't you bonny lad?

You'll learn!! ;)

Yes Mick hiVe been to 3 dno jobs moving g the meter all over £1000 and roughly moved about a metre to 2 metres
As he said we could have just said don't do it
