Discuss No Paperwork For New Consumer Unit Installation in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Its worth noting that I have looked at their website and there is no mention of Part P membership...

...It's also worth noting I've just spent a good 10minutes looking through them cert's ... how the fk have you found their website? Or am i just been completely blind ? I thought electricians weren't magicians lol

Where is the scheme number for their Part P membership?

Where's a lot of things murdoch?

That certificate is a disgrace.

No Certificate number
He's saying it's a new installation
No date to say what amendment he worked to
He's put he used old colours as a departure
No next inspection date
He says the main protective device is a 60898, now I can't tell clearly from the photos, but I doubt it.
He's also saying the main switch is a 60898, I can see that's not the case. He also says the 60898 main switch is a 30ma rcd
He used 10mm as the main earthing conductor, if he used 25mm tails then I would expect to see his calculations for this.

That was a quick look over, I'm sure there are other issue

And as Murdoch says, wheres the part p notification?

Yeah you've gone through that with a fine toothcombe lol you're absolutely correct though. I was just studying trying to find their website address.

I didn't read the cert into to much detail.

OP, having looked at it again, i'd definitely be questioning aspects of the cert. Be interesting to see their come back response if you put Andy's questions to them.

That's another thing Mark

No contractor details and signature,

It might be on a page not shown, but as there is no page numbering you can't tell.

Not a fine tooth comb Mark, that's just reading the first couple of pages, these thing jump out.
You wait till some of the terriers on this forum get their teeth into it.

correct me if im wrong but megger 1553 goes upto 999 for ir test? isnt it fluke that is 299?

your right now i have looked he has the suppliers fuse down as a 60898 lol

When I see a whole set of IR readings >299M (or other top of scale reading) I like to check one or two, just in case they have all been made up. Perhaps it is just my suspicious mind.

Just a thought ... the OP did start off by saying they'd been given absolutely no paper work on the CU change ...

Then requested it ...

Would not surprise me, with the state of that, if he's thought oh ---- and just made it up at home and tried to guess/remember what was installed at the property.

The landlord does not need to share it with you as for the burning smell the landlord should address this.
