So I have got a young lad on work experience with Darrel at the minute and I'm that impressed with him so far that I am seriously thinking of offering him an apprenticeship which is what he wants.

Anyway back to the story he asked me what I would charge to test his Gran's house it is a 1 bed bungalow with a 3036 Board with 4 circuits, he has asked me because she's had a quote from her insurance company and wants to compare prices. Now I have said I will do it for free for him for 3 reasons

1= it will be good experience for Him and He can say he played part in it to make his nan proud.
2= it won't take long if the 3 of us jump on it.
3= I just think it's a nice thing to do with her being an old lady.

Now to the point of the title of the thread, what do you think would be a fair price from the insurance company for this job, I will let you all have a guess
and see who gets closest.

Hang on. Why are the insurance company involved? have they insisted on an EICR before offering insurance or is it a condition of the policy?
Never heard of this, even with the 100's of customers I have.

You know, I was thinking that too, far too many sectors getting involved with nothing they know an thing about.
