So I have got a young lad on work experience with Darrel at the minute and I'm that impressed with him so far that I am seriously thinking of offering him an apprenticeship which is what he wants.

Anyway back to the story he asked me what I would charge to test his Gran's house it is a 1 bed bungalow with a 3036 Board with 4 circuits, he has asked me because she's had a quote from her insurance company and wants to compare prices. Now I have said I will do it for free for him for 3 reasons

1= it will be good experience for Him and He can say he played part in it to make his nan proud.
2= it won't take long if the 3 of us jump on it.
3= I just think it's a nice thing to do with her being an old lady.

Now to the point of the title of the thread, what do you think would be a fair price from the insurance company for this job, I will let you all have a guess
and see who gets closest.

knowing insurance companies, the spark would charge them £150 for the EICR, they' ll mark it up to around £400+VAT.

It could be quite high due to adding a huge markup on the electrician's fee.
It could also be quite low because they are reckoning to find lots of stuff that has to be done or the insurance will be voided.
