Hi,

Just had my first CV through the door from a 16 year old who has previously done work experience with another local firm.

I have a CU change on Friday, what do you say, shall I ring him and see if he wants to tag along?

Got an extension next week too.

Any thoughts? Can it hurt to do so? Do I pay him and if so, what in? Biscuits and tea?

Yeah don't pay it and if he as an accident , clock him out before he it's the floor, simples.

Could it be his age and lack of experience, did you have to declare that, just wondering if that bumped it up

No nothing, they didn't ask... I'm with NICEIC insurance.

just wondered really what other peoples experiences were of this and prices as I don't really want to be forking another £230 out, I've got to though unless he has his own which he hasn't and that's really up to me to sort.

I'd rather poke myself in the eye... :)

If want to expand, you need to spend.
You can't do everything yourself.
Then there's the art of delegation!!!

it's the employers liability that costs the biggest. be better for hom to be self-employed and you get PL insurance extendsed to cover 1 subby.

Go compare

I'll have a look tomorrow to see what I can find, they sir that I'm going fom just me with no ELI to essentially have two employees, so me and another, so they said should I add another it would only cost £100. They said its the ELI that's the expensive bit, they said I can't add PL for the other person without the ELI.

As for £20 i think thats plenty I was a level 2 plumbing apprentice just passed all my exams just waiting for my certs and I'm still on £20 per day without lunch and without being picked up and doing 50+ hours a week. i make some money on week ends doing my own jobs. i really do think that experience is more Important than money any day.
