Having a debate regarding spurs from a ring circuit, my lecturer at my 2391 course a few year back claimed that it was ok to have 1 spur per socket in a ring circuit, I know it ain't good practise but I can't find anything in regs book to confirm or deny point, any help much appreciated, cheers

Then the rules would still be the same if you wanted it to be a ring circuit. However you could safely take spurs wherever you like but it would no longer be a ring circuit, just a Bodged up radial

no, it would be a ring with spurs. the difference being that the single 2.5mm of the spurs would be protected ( In<Iz ), so what regulation/s would be breached?

U guys have totally got this wrong, I was having a debate at work and I said u can spur off each point ( remembering what the lecturer had said) but I couldn't find it in the regs book to back me up.... :-/

Think someone has already said APPENDIX 15, BS 7671

No regulation would be breached, but it would not comply with the requirements of a ring final circuit, but it also wouldn't have to comply with the requirements of a ring final circuit.

You're all wrong! :)

Appendix 15 is only 'Informative'.
Which implies you could wire an RFC and spur off it, in any way you want.
The diagrams are preferable ways of wiring an RFC to ensure it complies with 433.1
