Swearing!!!

It has come to my attention that some members are ignoring forum rules about a NO swearing policy.


This is a publicly viewed forum and we shall not tolerate swearing.. if any member persists in using language you will be issued with a warning and if that is ignored, then you will be removed from this forum.

that`s fair enough as we all know the rules and it makes it a good place to be. just a note on the automated swearing blocker though i am not sure if you receive a message as to the word it has blocked as the other day i typed ****y and it blocked it and made as if it was a swear word. didn`t want someone getting thrown off for swearing if it had mistaken what it had said.

I will look at what words are blocked in the swearing filter.. Think of it this way.. if you had a young kid what would you like them to view.?

All i am saying is we do not want the forum degrading with swearing.

Our forums are successful due to being clean and abuse free and having a good respectful member base.

We have that but occasionally members join and do not adhere to the rules.

Lets keep this a forum for all to use..

thanks dave. it wasn`t a criticism on the filter more so that no one got the boot for an innocent word mate. I agree with the kid`s reading. after alll if we want to rant we have the pub

sorry everyone, i swore on a thread yesterday and it blocked it automatically, then today i did put two words where i blocked out a few letters but im guessing thats not ok as i got a message about it. sorry i thought that wasnt as bad

bringing this one back to the top again as over the last few days i know myself and other mods have had to edit posts for the above reason.
please guys can we moderate our language, insinuating a swear word with say the first letter followed by ******* and ending in the last letter is not acceptable, we don`t want to spoil any ones fun but as dave pointed out this IS a publicly viewed forum.

I 100% agree with the no swearing policy, but on the same note I would not let my son use the internet without my supervision.

If you feel the need to swear and vent off, then use the pub. Thats what its there for.

Swearing will not be tolerated in the open forums, however you like to circumvent the filter.

All i will say is, if any member decides to use foul language, then they may have their account temporary or even permanently removed.

If anyone has any issues with this, then please feel free to PM me.
