That'll teach you to carry out dead tests before powering up.

Re: Tell us about your faults !

I'm only starting out and so not really dealt with much but my Uncle's house scares me.

For a start it's 2 banks of 4x BS 3036 Re-wireables and no RCD protection also these fuseboard units aren't very well installed either - it's very messy. I'd asked him when it'd been last inspected and tested but he was like "erm... does it have to be?" (I'm trying to get him to get his house rewired)

But I had to recently sort out a socket on the ring - it was in my cousin's bedroom - for a start it's too low and is installed through the skirting, but the socket was surface mounted on a patress box except my cousin kept moving her bed and knocking the socket off the wall. It then fully broke and it was left with the socket hanging out of the wall onto the floor, fully exposed and live.

It's been sunk into the wall now with a metal back box and sealed up nicely.

IIRC the whole 3 storey house only has 1 30amp ring - no separation for each floor or anything.

Not good.

Re: Tell us about your faults !

But could be fully compliant with the edition of the regs that it was installed to.

Really need to carry out a PIR.
