Hi ALL
Just thought id put this one up for all those faults we find.

There you go now for yours !

Re: Tell us about your faults !

probably said "ill catch that later after Tea break

Then walked off putting the cover back on:D, It defies belief sometimes they must have been lazy when doing the Zs at the board and left the main bonding in the bar with all the cpcs and gas and water bonding in place, still they would have got a sky high reading more on the lines of a rod. Testing would have picked it up in five minutes if done properly.

Re: Tell us about your faults !

Had a callout last night to a power failure, narrowed it down to the kitchen ring.Switched the rest of the house back on and went back this morning to get to the root of the problem.
The kitchen consisted of five twin sockets I could see ,and as I found out alot I couldnt:confused:.The understairs cupboard where the DB was backed on to the kitchen, and next to the DB was the spurs for the fridge and freezer and switch for the cooker.Couldnt find spurs for the extractor, gas hob ignitor and dishwasher.Pulled off the plinth for some clues and nothing???.
Dig a bit deeper, pulled out some drawers and the back of the unit and lo and behold.....

Re: Tell us about your faults !

Strange thing was ,the two flexs fed the extract and the hob igniter. The fuse was 3A but was still ok.The only thing I could put it down to was a failure in the socket itself. The landlord told its due a new kitchen and I agreed with a big smile:D.The extract was full of grease and crap so left that disconnected,it was only the recirculating type anyway.Nice seventies schriber kitchen.

Re: Tell us about your faults !

Had this one today, NIC approved contractor in Croydon somewhere, did a flat upgrade above the place i'm currently working in, in 2004. Took the cover off the adaptable box for the the submain for the flat, at the meter position in the shop i'm in, looks great ;), had to get into contact with the owner of the rented flat 6yrs its been like this, can't imagine how long some stuff goes unnoticed indefinitely! until it goes wrong or gets ripped out.
