Hi ALL
Just thought id put this one up for all those faults we find.
heres one to kick it off !
Domestic RCD tripped and wouldnt reset cause was a blown low energy light bulb.:D
There you go now for yours !

Re: Tell us about your faults !

At least they attempted to put a box on the circuit, I attended a fault about 7-8 years ago - a sizzling shower switch, I told her on the phone to pull the fuse of the supply to the shower at the mains and I`ll pop in later, she looked but she couldn`t find the right fuse to isolate it, OK I thought must have another fusebox tucked away out of sight.
I turned up, looked for the elusive box - nowhere to be seen
had a look at the cables and found that the shower cable had been connected straight into the henly block , No fuse , no RCD, nothing - except the 80 amp main fuse
Scary

Got a big rewire from that job though

Re: Tell us about your faults !

Me and my dad got a call off a friend who own a small corner shop. Saying that there is smoke coming out of his consumer unit and it smells. So got to the shop turned off the supply took the cover off to find a slug accross the main terminals. NICE :)

Had a lady ring me up to say her bathroom downlights dont work, even with new lamps in.

The downlights fitted were LV, Non-fire rated MR16 lamps.

The lights was packed down tight with loft insulation.

A concerned land lord of a local curry house asked me to check some wiring that had been carried out by the tenants , i cant write down my words of what i said when i saw it but the pictures might give you an idea as they say pictures speak a 1000 words ,had no choice but to issue a danger notification and insist the place be closed down for a day or so to carry out remidial works and a full inspection ,think its going to open a large can of worms big worms
