So I went back in today at the agreed time and did a bit more.
Ze to the TN-S connection on the DNO head was a respectable 0.22 ohms, installed main earth and bonding to the gas meter adjacent to the CU.
Zs at the same socket (which was about 6 ohms before) is now a very respectable 0.37 ohms
Customer very happy, paid me before I left.
She hadn't been panicing about the situation at all, and the house is defintely much safer than before.
As far as I'm concerned, a home built in 1961 and has clearly been like this since then, doesn't warrant scaring the homeowner senseless by over-stating any dangers.
