Had the same problem sort of intermittent problem years ago.
It had bugged the owners of a house for years.
It turned out to be a nail in a floorboard that had gone through a T&E lighting cable and now and again would short out the live and earth.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Just been told the bathroom light switch had a intermittent fault. I replaced the light switch but do you think this problem could be on the N

Think I will tell him to have the lighting re-wired grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Its a good mate tooo grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thought I fixed it with the new switches grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

If it is being caused by damp or water dripping somewhere wouldn't you expect the IR readings to be lower than 200Meg? I've come across damp problems twice before, once in my own house where a leaky shower was wetting floorboards close to some down lights. The IR reading in the morning not long after using the shower was below 1 meg, whereas next morning before using shower it was around 20meg, presumably because it had dried out.

If you're 90% sure its the lighting circuit at fault maybe you should look at the switches, fittings etc for any sign of moisture.

I admire your tenacity with this, I bet you're pulling your hair out!

I'm now bald. Fighting with the mrs shouting at the dogs not eating my dinner asking the walls for answ and last but not least asking my 8 year old girl if she knows anything lol

She says I should drive a bus WTF lol

Na to the point. All I can do now is isolate this kitchen circuit and see what happens then. It looks like this problem is in this area but if not it's a rewire me thinks.

What you think ?

Yeh but all readings are fine (like a new build lol)

cant even split this circuit as its all under tiles and lam flooring grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Cant find any j/b all I have is 1 light with 2 N in grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My guess is an earth to N fault in the damaged light fitting. This will become a problem when other devices draw large currents.
