Discuss Tripping 6amp breaker in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Huge problems now

Changed all the fittings etc and this breaker stayed on for a full day but now it's tripped again

wtf is going on ?

Now im told its when the kitchen light is switched on.

If I isolate the feed to the kitchen light and the kitchen light circuit is faulty will it still trip ?

Found a problem with a socket circuit.

Do you think this could cause the 6amp breaker on the lighting circuit to trip if the N is connected on the N bar with the rest of the circuits

Saying all this tho I did replace the old breaker and it seems to have tripped again.

But when I put a new breaker in it still tripped but this was befor I replace the lighting fittings etc

Could be a new breaker and fittings !

Not so sure tho as the circuits all test out fine

Yeh I had a lad test it he says the same cant understand it

Only things I can think of is

1) Breaker
2) Fault on feed to a 2 way to kitchen light

But then Im told it happens even when they in bed

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

House is very damp tho ,,, could this be the problem ?

That wont help me lol

this problem only trips when the kitchen is switched on

for example:1 she woke up switched hall lighting on then switched kitchen light on then after a few mins it tripped.

for example:2 she walks into kitchen turns light on and it trips after a few mins.

for example:3 light works for a good few hours then trips breaker.

Lost me this as it tests out ok

My guess is an earth to N fault in the damaged light fitting. This will become a problem when other devices draw large currents.
