How do you pronounce Ideal then? If they are going to rip Wago off in every other way they should start saying their name a different way....
I call them Fake Way-gosHow do you pronounce Ideal then? If they are going to rip Wago off in every other way they should start saying their name a different way....
This thread minds me a bit of when Social media blew up about how Nigella said Microwave
Personally I don't pronounce it at all as I don't use anything but the genuine orange - lever jobbies
The push fit splice ones that Ideal make have been my goto for a couple of years rather than crimps. Only now have Wago caught up with an option with their through lever connectors....I'm in the same boat, perhaps to my detriment, but I just don't trust other push in connectors.
I use the 221 but for push in connectors I use HellermannTyton.

These were the cause of a ring final circuit continuity fault, ditched them fault gone. Awful things. The push fit splice ones that Ideal make have been my goto for a couple of years rather than crimps. Only now have Wago caught up with an option with their through lever connectors....
They've always seemed a fairly good fit when I've tried, though there is the issue of fixing them in place, which you can't do in the same way as a usual Wagobox. I don't like the blue Ideal boxes much, they don't work well with anything more than 1.5mmI use the term 'push in' to describe all such connectors, but didn't know Hellermann made these. Interesting that their lighting connectors look identical to Wago 224
Always liked the idea of these connectors, but have read about more than one issue with Ideal splices. Maybe they were poorly fitted, but this is the reason why I'm generally hesitant to use anything other than Wago.
Why is that? Have they got a high rate of failure? We have a policy not to use Ideal connectors of any kind.
Not even the wirenuts they were pushing 10 years or so ago? Still have some in stock....We have a policy not to use Ideal connectors of any kind.
