I use Metrel Mi 3000 it does all the 17th edition tests for around £400. Price was my main reason. It does look a bit fisher price but I have had no problems with it so far. I have gone off fluke after getting error 1's on two of them (which essentially means replace the main-board and calibrate so almost half the cost of a new one). Megger I think look good but cost too much, just my opinion.

Have mainly used fluke but found this company that is a distributer for kewtech near me called academy technical services have supplied few mates with testers for really good prices so that will be next purchase.

My toolkit consists of:

Fluke T5-1000 (1000V AC/DC; 100A AC Clampmeter and basic Ohms)
Fluke 87V (Most of the bells and whistles)
Fluke 725 Process Calibrator (For generating 4-20mA in analogue loops, 0-10v output etc)
Kyoritsu 3132A 250/500/1000V Insulation Resistance meter.
And a fluke Voltstick of some description... :)
