What wire to use when spurring a circuit onto additional sockets?

I am wishing to extend and install some new sockets close to an existing socket in a room, I am a complete newbie when it comes to electrics although sensible and aware of the dangers, I want to install some additional power sockets in my living room but unsure what wire i need to use.

I am aware that this is an easy question but i dont know the answer so appreciate the help and if a few people could answer to confirm its right.

Once i know ill order some on ebay.

don't order too much cable off ebay anyway

you will require 2.5mm Twin and Earth, additionally you will also require earth Sleeving to sleeve the Bare Earth when stripping back.

go to toolstation / screw fix... you can buy cable in 10-15m lenghts prepacked!! much better than evil bay !! at least you know what your buying is Basec Approved

i use the ebay stuff for 110v sockets

no need for a traffo

Bell wire is cheaper and you dont need to buy earth sleaving as it does not have that annoying bare cable.

well the customer died so no remedial work to carry out or law suit to worry about as all evidence was burnt and destroyed!! rocker was so so lucky on that one!!! typical ginger attitude to electrics!!

You are unsure of what you are doing. you don't have the appropriate equipment or knowledge to ensure that the installation is in a safe condition to take the additional extension to the circuit.

Fitting a socket is not rocket science I have to admit, but it needs to be done properly and safely.
