I realised as soon as I posted it that it would be a small motor to some people on here!
I have been given a 4kW Rotary Phase Converter to run this mill and a medium(!) size lathe. I want to change to a digital phase converter as the rotary is so noisy.
So should I use the current rating on...
Firstly, I'm not doing this, I'm getting someone else to. I'm just interested.
I have a machine arriving which has a largish motor, the plate on it is the one below.
The horsepower is 0.6 but the current stated is 2.4A. This to me doesn't work out, is this the in-rush current?
The motor is...
The cheapest insulator of them all, air!
There is a bus bar which is at a maximum of 20v DC, the titanium wire connects the bus bar to the part being anodised in a strong acid solution. It can't be insulated.
I currently use aluminium, but this (without going into too much detail) can only...
Strange question I know, but does anyone know the current carrying capacity of titanium wire.
I have some titanium wire for anodising but could do with knowing if the CCC is more or less than equivalent aluminium wire.
Thanks!
Almost, it's a Myford M series. Although that could be the same as a Super 7! I don't know!
Well worked out form the picture though!
Ive only just got it, it seems pretty good.
That's a good idea. It's something I'll probably do in the future.
At the moment the whole workshop is secure due to powerfull acids and other chemicals being in there!
Thanks.
Ive ordered 3. They are only for a lathe and pillar drill I have at home so single pole non-isolating is fine as I am the only one that has key to the area they are in!
I need some emergency stops for machinery.
Screwfix sell them for £26, this seems expensive.
How much would they normally cost if I wait Untill Monday to get them from a Electrical Wholesaler?
Thanks.

:)For me it would have been easier (but more expensive) as the shorter exam writing times would have been a lot better for the carpel tunnel I have in both hands!
