Bonding Gas Supply in an Outbuilding

Can you not utilise the armourings along with the third core to increase your effective CPC csa ? You might find it complies after all if this has already been done, I will have a look through the various tables later. Otherwise just note it on the EICR as per the advice given in the links above

Bonding Gas Supply in an Outbuilding

What is there to explain ? As you go down those first two columns in 4.4 (i) it gives the minimum sizes according to function of said conductor, obviously if it is only an EC then the minimum size is given, likewise for a MPB, where it is used as both functions again the minimum size is given...

Bonding Gas Supply in an Outbuilding

The point being made is that if bonding is required at the remote end of the sub-main, then that sub-main's CPC will be required to be sized to act as both a CPC and a main bonding conductor, which means the sub-mains CPC will need to be 10mm minimum to satisfy the PME regs.

A new jokes thread for your amusement.

Cherie's Chauffeur Cherie Blair is touring the countryside in a chauffeur-driven car. Suddenly, a cow jumps out into the road, they hit it full on and the car comes to a stop. Cherie, in her usual charming manner, says to the chauffeur: 'You get out and check - you were driving.' The...

I thought the 2392 was just single phase ? besides it is only level 2 anyway.

    Code 1 Really!!!!

Even the Jubilee clip would be an upgrade on some of the shyte I have come across ;) if they have bothered to Earth the armourings at all that is ;) , I have seen the armourings just twisted together and forced into 1 or more terminals in the MET inside the CU, sometimes a haircut lol with only...

    supplementary bonding and rcd protection

Not quite true, it depends what type of installation you are talking about, SB is still required in a lot of cases. If you are talking about domestic bathrooms, then all of these conditions need to be met to omit SB, 1) the final circuits meet the requirements for ADS 2) all final circuits in...

    Old mem mcb type

As a guess (I know, I know ;) ) they are possibly type 1, looking at the part number it has the Amp rating, then the type and then two letters example; 5 1 EG, I don't suppose MEM themselves are any help ?

2395 on Wednesday! Wish me luck.

I am not really sure what you are getting at Archy, we were told measuring the voltage at each end is not a valid test, it was to be calculated by measuring the resistance of the cable and estimating the length via the tables, working out your design current, then calculating your mV/A/m over a...

2395 on Wednesday! Wish me luck.

No, because the CPC would only come into play during a fault, not during normal operation ;) a high R1 and Rn maybe ;)

2395 on Wednesday! Wish me luck.

I did the 2391 a while back ;) It is 3% for lighting and 5% for everything else generally So for a water heater 11.5 V would be allowed.

If I recall it was to ensure the correct function of equipment under normal service conditions.

    high pfc domestic property

In another thread on the same subject I pointed out that the OCPDs themselves can have significant impedances at the kA fault level (current limiting), as well as the relatively smaller size conductors on the outgoing ways, for instance what are the chances of say obtaining 16kA fault current...

    measurement of distribution

That cannot work as drawn, the Cts need to be either around the supply lines to the individual loads, or if more than one supply is present around the supply lines themselves. The voltage inputs to the meters as well as the meter supply itself (as opposed to the current inputs) may be before...

NICEIC Certification Scheme help filling in niceic test certs please

You obviously cannot enter the supply characteristic bits on the form, but I would be T+I ing to make sure it is suitable for all types of supply likely to be connected, ie. and that the disconnection times meet TT, RCD present etc...etc.. I would have thought when it is connected up on site it...

NICEIC Certification Scheme help filling in niceic test certs please

Because it is a portable cabin type affair, supply source unknown and variable. If it were me I would probably T+I for the most onerous conditions and use the TT disconnection times.
