Most thieves are chancers not organised criminals carrying around dog meat and poison.
Dogs bark which alerts people to the presence and stops thieves breaking into your actual property 99% of the time.
As for CCTV, the thieves who tried to crowbar open my old man's windows laughed and pointed...
Well yeah but the point is they're just an awarding body. Even if their entry requirement was stricter than strict it's irrelevant since you don't have to be a member to be a practising electrician. Only when scheme adherence is MANDATORY to practice the trade do said scheme's requirements...
I'm pointing out facts about being 'fully qualified'. There is no such thing.
These schemes take on those who've done a 6 day course and you're using them as a benchmark? Lol.
No actually you're conflating joining a scheme with being 'qualified'. They're not the same things at all and these...
My old man has full CCTV covering every inch of his property. About 10 years ago two lads tried to break in, and the CCTV showed they looked at the CCTV, pointed and laughed before continuing to try to break in.
Thankfully his UPVC windows held firm but he went out and got a German Shepherd. No...
Nope, they are standards required to join optional third party certification schemes. Not the same thing.
No?
I'm sorry but pointing out factual information about qualifications isn't insulting. If you find it so you may usefully reflect on the fact that you may need to harden up a bit.

And the point here is there is an actual definition of what constitutes 'fully qualified' and it's called 'technicien', one step above 'electricien' which is their equivalent to domestic installer. It's a regulated profession in France, it isn't here which is why our...
Yeah i mean what qual counts? Level 2? Inspection and testing + experience? It's a terrible minefield of an industry imo.
I cut my teeth in Europe and their rules are far superior, they're properly regulated and even their standards are better.
UK is miles behind in every single measurable...
They're all crap imo. The reality in colleges up and down the country is they're understaffed, underfunded, full of people who don't care and the organisation is usually appalling.
You just need to get through the Level 2 and 3 and try to find work to get the real on site experience that is...
I imagine lights like this:
The light fittings (the bits with the bulbs etc) need a live, neutral and earth going to them. The switches only need live and switched live.
If you basically picture the fitting as having all three wires going to it but the live has a switch in the middle of it...
Personally if you can get the short course down and have someone to work with after, i think this route is preferable for an adult instead of having to do 42 months of apprenticeship. At the end of the day it's the on site stuff and the NVQ that matters.
I would assume those saying they are 'domestic' sparks either only ever worked domestic or mostly work domestic. It's a fair way to describe yourself in such a circumstance.
I would ring up anonymously and ask. Just call JIB and tell them your situation.
This country would be stupid enough to make you do the Level 2.
I have A Levels in Maths and English and because i've not got GCSE's i have to do GCSE Maths as part of my apprenticeship even though i've already...
