A valued customer has replaced all his Halogen GU10's with LED replacement lamps. For some reason three lamps on one switched circuit remain on but very dim when the switch is off. This room is switched from 3 points and depending on which switch turns off the lamps this has an effect on the...
Hi,
I have a hydraulic valve with a two 24Vdc, 31W coils. How do you calculate the size of the diode to place across a coil to prevent voltage spikes or back EMF?

Apparently they are offering fixed price installations via their network of flooring showrooms.....

Hey peeps,
A customer of mine (a landlady) has a small flat she's renting and wanted me to have a look behind a socket in the kitchen. When I went to look what I found was a 2g socket mounted in a dry lining box in a stud wall. Directly behind (on the other side of the wall) is a shower. The...
Installed led spotlight on landing controlled by 2 way switch. When switched off it continues to glow. Presumably this is an induced voltage in the strapper. Is there any cure or even any need to cure it?

Hi all,

Hi
We need some advice on the following.......
A potential new client has a hefty SWA cable across his field supplying five 6A caravan hook ups. Ideally he would like us to extend it over to his barn (20M) for a 4kWp system therefore avoiding having to install a new cable under ground.
I have...

The last three CU changes I've been to I have picked up L-E and N-E readings of 0.01-0.03 Meg on the pre tests before I quote, there is not enought fault current to blow the 3036's in all three scenarios but enough to trip a 60898, I cant remember this happening before, unless I'm...
Still a relatively inexperienced so sorry if these seem obvious/dumb questions.

My first worry.
I loosen the socket...
