Hi all. We're going to be replacing some edison bulbs in our patio with LED lights. I'm not very familiar with safety when it comes to LED's. This article from LED Lights Unlimited was pretty good about checking the bulbs and wiring, but I'm interested in knowing how they'll do outside this...
I just finished painting a bedroom and replaced the LED lights that were previously to small for the recessed cans with bigger LED lights of the appropriate size. While painting I only had 2 of the 4 new LED lights installed plus another LED light of a different size and left the other one...
Hi, I've "inherited" a light fitting which I believe used to work okay but then stopped. I've tried swapping the "bulb" (it's not a bulb!) but it's still not working. I'm unfamiliar with the fitting so I'm concerned if I've bought the wrong sort of bulb, which I tried to match with the old one...
I have this bulb that needs replacing. Markings on it are: 2817, 240V 150W, C2b8, Germany. What type is this please? Also, can I replace it with 150W LED equivalent?

Does it...

I have tried pulled it with pliers, and also...

Since we moved house, the light above the front door hasn't worked. Picture attached.
Looking at it, does anyone know how to remove the lamp? The black fixture tilts in the outer holder but I don't know if that's just designed to allow the bulb to be angled.

I've fitted a new bulb on our landing -- 60W LED GLS. It won't switch off, but just dims down a bit. Comes back to full brightness when switched on. (In other words, it's always 'on' even when the switch is 'off'.)
Have I used the wrong bulb type?
Is there a permanent trickle to this light...

Hi all,
I have a single new LED bulb fitted today and when I switch it off, it keeps flashing on every 2-3 secs. After a while, the flashing dims, but still flickers. The circuit seems to be simple - no 2-way switching. Incidentally, I previously had a CFL bulb in this fixture and it didn't do...
