Hi, I'm interested in this lamp which has a 12V AC filament bulb. It sits in a MR16 fitting, so I was thinking: If I power it with 12V DC instead of 12V AC, and replace the light bulb by a 12V DC LED bulb, it should work.

When i switch my sidelights on,they come on yet the front nearside bulb barely emits any light. How can a bulb do that? I thought that a a bulb either "works" or it doesn't.... Is it a faulty bulb or electrical problem?

I need to replace some ceiling rose/pendants in my property as they've become brittle with age.
I've bought some new ones but they are all the standard length of cable.
