Hi, I am a DIYer but have a good knowledge of electrics. The new units both have standard 13A plugs fitted to supply cables.
Do I have to have a dedicated supply fed via 6mm sq cable? I have assumed it is not acceptable to connect them to a ring main?
I live in a bungalow and I have to retile so...
I got called out to this today. I was told the main oven fan was working but not the element.
Now normally, we don't get to look at the back, unless it's the fan or thermostat.
But on this cheap piece of Beko $hite for some wonderful reason the element screws in from the back, and this is the...
Hi. Just moved into a house and it has a Neff C28MT27N0B combination microwave oven. Apparently it's out of warrentee. The microwave works fine but the oven is oven heating.
I have replaced the thermostat and tested the elements. However, the top element comes on and stays on even when I'm...
My old hard wired 30 amp oven blew just before Christmas. I bought a new 13 amp one. In order to get it up and running for Christmas I hard wired it into the 30amp circuit. All kitchen wiring and consumer unit were renewed just under 30 years ago.
There is a 13 amp single socket next to the...
When i turn the oven on, the LED spots dim?
The house is so old and wiring is terrible, Could it be a shared neutral between the circuits somewhere? Could it just be the whole system is being overloaded? nothings ever tripped out because of it.
Has anyone else had a problem similar to this...
Hi, i am attempting to change the element on my Neff B14M42N3GB oven.
However, when I got to the element it appears the screws holding it have been put in from behind. On the instruction videos I watched the head of screw was here . Any advice? Thanks
Hi I have been having problems with my cooker and want to change it.
I have looked at several that say a 32amp permanent connection is required, which is what I have, however, I don't think the specifications sheet is correct.
An example is 14.5kw cooker should be on a 32 amp connection...

I have a fitted Zanussi microwave combi -oven which has stopped working. Door switches etc are OK as I have a 240 volt supply to the high voltage transformer, this transformer checks out OK. I did find the high voltage diode was faulty and changed this but oven still did not work. As I...
My friend was cooking dinner with something in and it tripped the electric off at the RCD.
Put the RCD back on and finished cooking what they were cooking.
The next day they put the oven back on and now there's no heat.
Any ideas?

Hi all,
I have a 6 year old HBG73U150/45 oven from Bosch. The ventilation fan no longer stays on to exhaust the humid air inside from inside the chamber. In the worst case, water vapour seeps out the front and then the touch screen goes berserk -- won't stop beeping :(
I took the cover off and...
Hi, I'm a DIY'er but not a DIY electrician. I have a 3.5kW oven (15A min. 20A max. fuse) and want to connect a separate 7.4kW hob on the same 40A kitchen circuit. Looking at other posts in this forum it looks like it’s ok with a dual outlet, but do you need the cable dia. To check this first, or...

I want to check the rules when doing an EICR for MCB size for ovens. My mate says i should fail an installation because there is a 40 amp MCB on an oven rather than a 32 amp. Is he right?
Hi all this is my first post. I am renewing my kitchen and at the moment I have a large cooker I'm changing it to a single oven. At the moment the cooker is on its own dedicated circuit with a 32mcb and 6mm cable going to a 45a cooker switch then going to a 45a cooker outlet plate which the...
