These garages on the A19 one is east-west but the other is north-south and both have panels on either side.We talking loads of panels too with the north side having atleast a row of 15.Obviously a north side will still get daylight but will this be worth the cost of panels.

link dont work but its petrol station main buildings on A19 just north of Middlesbrough near Hartlepool,obviously google dosnt show the panel install yet.

Soil stack and tv aerial not exactly helpful either

you think shading on that is bad... if you ever have the pleasure of working in portland as you drive up the hill just after the tight bend but before big hill in front of you (that people right messages on) have a look on the right and chuckle

[ElectriciansForums.net] Another who dunnit.

How about this beauty. Top of the panels is slightly above the ridge and the uppermost rail is, as you'd expect, below the tolerances for the panel warranty. The bottom rail is also inexplicably too low.

There are a few others in the area which all look shoddy and I suspect that the same firm has done them all.

I think we are all seeing that a depressingly high proportion of the installations that have gone up, particularly in the last few months, are just thrown up as the installer pleases.

Funny thing is there is enough roof to do it properly....Thats just a JOKE...

Come on would you let these jokers put panels on your house... I would not have believed there were so many jokers out there if I had not seen the photos...
As I don't do the installation of Solar I have no idea what the regs are etc. One thing I do know is that I definately wouldn't be knocking on someones door asking who had done it. That to me shows too much spare time. etc.

Happens everday in the sparking game. Loads of conmen. Part P registered. Its just a way of life these days.

That's fair enough. Plenty of people are happy to simply shrug their shoulders and ignore it. Some aren't.

However, I don't see how spare time is even slightly relevant;

"I'm really passionate about my work and I am concerned about the amount of dodgy installs that have been carried out recently. I have noticed one in particular which is particularly shocking. However, if I go and knock on the door then I may be wasting some of my ever-decreasing spare time. That is a cost that is far too awful to consider. However, if work dries up then I will definitely reconsider."

Sorry, but I just don't see that as being a reasonable thought process of a sane man.

In the case of the last picture the installer should go out and put it right, if the customer dosnt known there is a problem is it better to say nothing, in some cases there is no fixing but I think if it was my house and someone told me id be quite happy and greatful if there was a chance the panels were going to blow off..

if some are knocking on peoples doors slagging the work of competitors they must be very bitter men,its small time at best, weve all seen others work and think either,nice job or i could do better than that but to knock on doors or grass to the gaffer have a word with yourselves man..,one mans meat is another mans poison
