i have drilled through a waste pipe from a toilet that doesnt be usaed much so isnt leaking, have you evr done this and did you have to cut the pipe and refit piece or were you able to fill with ct1 or anything you consider was good

On your other thread you say you have a mate that is a plasterer, get him out to cut a decent size section of the ceiling. Cut the soil pipe where you have put a hole in it and use a soil pipe connector joint. It may cost you a few quid for your mate but its the best option imo and the job is done correctly with no possibility of any come backs.

Bung a bit of silicone in for tonight and let it go iff, then go and have a pint as tomorrow is another day.

Then do the job properly, don't leave silcone in as the chemical in toilets cleaners, and if it ever blocked water jets will just erode it or blast it out. Cut the pipe out and fit a new piece with the jointing kits they have now it's so easy, just a matter of getting access.

Last I heard of drilling through waste pipes was to get an earth stake in (no, it wasn't me!). Personally I'd get a plumber in but as it seems you can't get hold of yours so one of the above aforementioned solutions and if in doubt perhaps a plumbers' forum? Just don't tell em you're a sparky who has drilled trough their pipes!

if it's out of sight, just glue a patch on it and cover it up.

Totally agree with you Tel, ...making a mountain out of a mole hill ain't the way to go here.

Ask your plumber friend for a bit of off cut of the same type of orange pipe. find out the correct adhesive cut a square large enough to cover an inch or so all around this tiny 8mm hole and glue it on over the hole. Maybe add a bit more adhesive over the hole to fill it.
...Job Done!!!

If the correct adhesive is used for soil pipe, then it should be immune to corrosive chemical toilet cleaners etc....

LMAO, people are showing what some people would call cowboy tendencies.
Do you feel lucky well do you, did you use 1 or did you use 5 tubes of silicon, well did you.
The thing is you know deep down what to do, but me thinks you are just trying to feel better about doing it wrong, cos others do it, so it must be ok.lol

As the correct pipe adhesive is a welding type for this PVC pipe, and the patch is of the same material, ....it will probably out last one of those rubber pipe connections!!!

I=p/u I've found you an avatar picture ;)
