I did show my interest in the last thread. I'll help where I can, I see to many trainees with poor attitudes to learning and work, so helping those who have proven an interest in our trade would be a pleasure.
Not really, trainees can post questions and they get assistance from the mentors. Mentors are always more knowledgeable in certain areas so as a mentor you answer where you can assist. Basically a free for all.
Trainees are encouraged to post questions about anything they're unsure or confused about. The reasons it's a restricted forum are several. Firstly because there's no such thing as a stupid question and there's a commitment to maintain an environment where they can ask any question no matter how obvious the answer might seem to others. They can ask guidance about absolutely anything whether it be regs, theory, maths or whatever. It's really not a forum where everyone would be happy to mentor, it requires mentors to be tolerant and encouraging as well as being able to educate. I think another reason limits on numbers is important is so it doesn't become swamped and the learning gets marginalised by general chit chat or debates that aren't relevant to the questions being asked and the needs of the students.
Another point worth mentioning is that it was set up so that trainees could ask a question without fear of getting pilloried for not knowing something.
I wish this section was open a few years back when doing my quals like 2391 and 2330 and the NVQ 2377, 2393 and 2382 well maybe not the last 3 lol as they were fairly easy compared to the 2391 but studying myself from Jan to exam in jun 2010 helped me ensure i was more than ready for the exam in fact as i had studied 12 hrs a day most days evry day and every minute i could spare for every other exam so was bursting to get them done lol there was smoke coming of my pen lol so if i can help with any of these exams and courses I know theyre basically ended but most of the content will be same and all the course i have taken I have done well with 90 -100% in all
I have experince but mainly limited to domestic but if its anything to do with the courses if i could would be willing to help anyone as others on here havehelped me greatly in my time on the forum and some personally gone out there way to help me and advise some with posts above have helped me without question so I would deffo recommend a few of the above names withheld to protect the innocent lol
and as after 26 yrs and Finally getting my JIb card the other day still learning really so would be good to be able to read the posts and answers and help were i can and in return it would be helping me in return as one of the reasins didnt ask to many questions in the open forum was due to fear of being riduculed for asking a simple questions my belief is no question is stupid if its genuine then if possible deserveds a answer and if peole dont like waht other ask then simply dont answer
this is how the forum was when I joined but now I help were i can and have a select few I pm if i need advise as i know i wouldnt be slated
I could do with some business maentoring on the business side of things lie qouting and tax affairs etc as this is more daunting than the 2391 to me lol
