Guys,

If any of the more experienced members would like to become a mentor on the trainee forum please reply to this thread. The link to this thread will be posted in the staff room for admin. Please remember that these are verified trainees in this forum and MUST be treated with respect when answering.

Any off topic posts on this thread will be removed.

I would put my name forward, but out of my own admission im probably not the best, considering my track record of intolerence. However like has been said, any question can be asked and they are genuine trainee's with an interest for the trade - so i'd be alright with this and would be happy to oblige, scouts honour!

However, plenty of experience members have replied to this thread, so think Sintra, Marvo and the gang have more than enough experience to chose from. I'm here and willing if you need me though lads, over and out!

I could do with some business maentoring on the business side of things lie qouting and tax affairs etc as this is more daunting than the 2391 to me lol

Although it's not really relevant to the trainee section I think the business side of think is also vastly overlooked. In this day and age more and more people are looking at self employment and more often than not the reason they fail has nothing to do with technical ability, it's down to lack of business acumen and marketing skills.

If you've any suggestions on how better coverage in this area could be achieved on the forum, I'm all ears.

Hi

25 years experience as an industrial electrician working for Gillette, Nestle and Siemens. More recently worked in an energy management role at Heathrow airport. I am also a NVQ assessor with my A1 qualification.

I am happy to help.

Regards

I have already replied and offered my services, and i will also offer free mentoring to apprentices who want Inspection and Test training to 2394/5 standard, can apply it in their job and are local "ish" to me and willing to cover my fuel costs.

There is a catch, i will need the unique learner number (ULN) from their training plan to verify that they are on an apprenticeship programme, and i will check the validity of the ULN prior to offering my services.

Cheers...........Howard
