Hi all.

When upgrading a fuse box to a 17th ed. CU is it a legal requirement to get an isolation switch fitted, or can it be done live. Far from ideal I know, but the £90 price tag set by manweb puts a lot of customers off.

yes i always do , like i said earlier on the thread i follow the book ,i cant afford to lose customers theres always someone else more than happy to pick them up . im trying to get them away from the diy culture thats here .

"The Book" doesn't say you have to upgrade the tails. The OSG shows 25mm but that's really for new builds.

yes daz , i usually put in a 10 way cu so at least then its to regs , when i go back to do extra circuits its already done . otherwise start changing tails they could ask why . it works for me .

Which reg is that? so you take out a 4 way and put in a 10 way?????

it obviously isnt a reg , a 10 way dual rcd is a 17th edition board so thats what goes in .

Strictly speaking a 10 way filled with RCBOs matches the regs better than a dual-rcd split unit. Daz
