Discuss urgent helps please problems with consumer unit rcd tripping in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

No this is not for a customer as I do not do if a living I am just trying to save a friend a few quid as they are having problems and cannot afford to get a sparky in

would some be kind enough just to tell me why is trips on the none rcd side but not on the rcd side.

I think ink it is to do with the dimmer which I will be testing and changing later as this is tripping the circuit when operated

Looks like its going to cost more in the long run!!!

Try another light and see if it trips

hi hi thanks for that I have already tried all the lights and everything is fine with the rest of the house and all the other switches work fine.

I am not trying to be a pain to anyone but I am just having difficulty getting my head around why I do not have the same issue on both sides of the rcd and if there is a fault on the circuit why is it tripping on both the rcd and none rcd side

Are the MPBC's n tails ok???

Really need to be testing. It's all well savin ya mate a few quid but why did it need doing to start with...
