Discuss whats the point in the Electricians Chat - Off Topic Chat area at ElectriciansForums.net

its the way this forum is going
We may be sarcastic, but filthy language is something we don't use on new members, sometimes the 3 letters FFS are used but even I wouldn't stoop to the level you did on that dust extract thread. That was lower than a snakes belly.

Good for you Iamelectric for having the gutts to start this thread.

I also cant understand why some members instantly get so aggressive with 'silly' OP's. I would think there are 2 options:

1. Dont reply
2. Explain to the OP that they need to give more information and also offer a few suggestions themselves.

I think the 'unhelpful/uneccessary' comments from certain members are because they like to 'look good' to other members, I guess they're showing off like you did back in the class room at school. But also I think some are genuinely frustrated by the 'silly' questions, but then you should just respond with points (1) or (2).

Some of the 'bullys' are clearly very experienced electricians and could offer a huge amount to the new members, but I don't think that is why they are on the site.

I am sure alot more info would be forthcoming to threads, but it is a 2 way thing.

Why should people respond politely if the OPs cant be bothered to do anything themselves?

OK...yep i have had a go at you in the recent past.....but only because i thought you were at the stage where you should be shadowing someone else...that was my firm conviction...

it still is.....

You obviously didn't see the reply he made to a civil question in the dust extractor thread mentioned earlier. Hence his unexpected holiday.

this is it..

it becomes patently clear very early on in some of these threads that the author has either no bloody idea what he is doing...

or is too lazy/slack to go look it up in BS7671...

I actually thought the dust extractor question was a good question, It didn't need moving to the DIY either, I assume the guy is a spark and he uses a vaccuum fixed to his chasing machine, good question.

Because Dillb, we rise above it. If we act rude or silly back we dont make any progress and the OP either dissappears or just stays silly.

One thread where the OP has done some research, and the one person trying to justify this thread gets banned for replying to it.

Yes I scream at my PC sometimes but never allow it to get the better of me.

Nope, I didn't Sintra. It's disappointing that he had to cloud this thread, it adds less clout to his opinions now!
