    Daisy chain inverters?

Do you have any pictures. I'm struggling to picture this.

Advice please: Solarworld or Phono Solar or REC panels

Difficult to say which is best. In performance, REC looks best on paper. But there's not a lot in it. To be honest, if it were my own house then I'd go for REC, followed by Solarworld, followed by Phono. But I'd be happy with any of them. Much more important to find a company which knows...

    Volt drop question

It's a judgement call, I would say. What is the grid voltage currently? If it is low then you can maybe afford to let the 1% rule slip. You do risk the possibility of problems in the future however if the grid voltage rises. Unfortunately, as you have probably noticed, the cable size...

Another to add to hall of shame

I already have. We were actually working on the site at the time carrying out other work. The cable work looks like it's been carried out by a chimpanzee with a sledge hammer.

    solar pv electric shock

Isn't there some guidance in the new MCS guide about dealing with cattle grazing on top of tin roofs?

Another to add to hall of shame

Also, check out the rail underneath. All of the rails are like this.

Another to add to hall of shame

So we saw this the other day. Take a look at the clamping positions. Imagine walking away from this job.

    Tumbleweeds...?

We've gone quiet on solar PV, but we're getting plenty of work from other areas.

    Daily Mail customers

Fair point. I should have passed the 'lead' on. I pity the poor bloke who ends up doing the work though.

    Daily Mail customers

We went to look at an electrical job on Saturday and to cut a story short, the work they wanted doing simply wasn't feasible. Anyway, having noticed our van, the guy then proceeds to tell us that solar PV just doesn't work and that he is looking at solar thermal instead as it is much better...

    eversolar 17000tl

I've seen some dodgy things on site over the years, but this is absolutely staggering. To get something so obvious so completely wrong makes you wonder what else he could get wrong.

Solar install help required - Surrey/West Sussex area

4.4kWp. That's a fairly unusual size system. Are you aware this takes you into the 4-10kWp fits bracket?

2 MPANS = 2 FiT applications, both at highest tariff, do you think so?

As I understand it, each case is different and ultimately at Ofgem's discretion.

    Why do you instal?

Environmental issues, enjoyable work, diversifying our business. It certainly isn't lucrative. In fact, I'm very surprised (and impressed) by firms which focus entirely on PV and still maintain a decent level of work.

    eversolar 17000tl

I find it puzzling that such a person should actually exist. And I suppose that is why we get such fundamental mistakes as this. And this. 10% less does seem high but perhaps not outrageously off. Are the panels clean? What is the roof covering? Is it bonded? Extraneous?

TL inverters and TT earthing systems?

Is there any reason why the TL inverter needs to be on an RCD? Such as how the array is installed or the route of the AC cable? If not, then what's the issue? ETA Ah, now that I've read the thread properly, I see what you mean. Surely getting the DNO out is the right thing to do. If a TNS is...

    cable size selection

I'd check the incoming voltage as it currently is. Risky, as voltages can rise.

Actually, I didn't ;-) I don't sort out the access to the Sun Lounge, Electricians' Arms etc.

The Sun Lounge is tradesmen only but I personally wouldn't have any issue with you having access, Andy. It is fair to say that your input is pretty much invaluable to the forum.
