Just wondered if anyone has used this method with the earth wire in flexi conduit going to a plastic end box flat
on the pavement outside the front door with the earth rod coming up thro centre of the box.
Looks like a trip hazard to me.

Have noticed with hole saws,it seems better if you stop and start the drill while drilling and always use oil.I mainly drill stainless,so mild steel is easier.Regards S.
In delta each coil would be 5000/3 = 1666watts.So res of coil would be v squared/watts = 440sq/1666=116ohms per coil.If you say the single phase v is 220,3 phase should be 380v not 440v,unless its a wierd system.

There was reg that allowed a 16a mcb
There used to be a reg that allowed sockets spurred off a ring final to be fed from a 16A mcb.
Suppose it would work subject to volt drop and loop impedance etc.

As others have said, the 3 phase motor must be connected in delta to work off 240v.The capacitor produces another phase.Live and neutral go to 2 motor terminals and the capacitor goes between live and the other motor terminal.Nowhere near as efficient as running on true 3 phase...
According to my motor textbook, the capacitor for a 1 to 3 phase conversion on a 3/4 h motor is 30mfarad.It may be worth fitting a new capacitor if you feel confident.

Yes,had to wire new outside light so I fitted an rcd spur inside the house. There is talk on the iet forum that rcd spurs have a different BS number to normal rcbo,s and rcds,so there is some question about their use.

As above,I do work for a fabricator of hot food counters and they need a 3ph db to fit in a cupboard about 500wide x 300high.I have found a proteus unit, but would prefere another brand. In the past a din rail box has been used with mcb,s hard wired to a main switch, but I believe there is no...
