Hi, I am planning to fit a SolarImmersion to make use of my excess generation and need to extend the CT clip-on sensor by about 7m. Their website states that this can be done using a twisted pair data cable, but no specifications. Has anyone needed to do this or can suggest a suitable cable...

Hello all....

I just assumed that this would be an EIC...
Hey guys, I have a client who currently has a 1.2kW tracking array. He is in the process of building a new outbuilding and has asked if he can extend off the circuit the supplies the array. Personally I don't see an issue with it as we have space to install a small isolator on the mains side...
Hi,
My sockets are currently situated on the skirting board and I'm wanting them higher so that they sit in the wall.
My plan was to pull back the two cables, join them in a JB (under floorboards considered inaccessible??) and then pull two new cables up from that JB to the higher positioned...
I am a mechanical engineer and has come across a rising main in a house which had been cut and joined using a crimped barrel connector. Common senses tells me this is against regs but i cant find anything specific which says it is not acceptable. What do people think?
Thanks
I am soon to be moving my first board, not a bad job really and quite straight forward until it comes to the equipment to use for the JB. I am swaying towards a IP box, DIN rail and screwless terminals.
I read on a thread here that someone was thinking of using the original CU because DIN rail...
I understand that when extending meter tails beyond a certain length, usually 3 mtrs, DNOs normally want you to add additional overload protection, typically in the form of a switchfuse.
I guess I'm struggling to understand that why, in a properly designed and specified installation, this is...
I need to extend 17 circuits by about a meter for a CU move. Taking account of ring finals, going from memory there'll be about 20 cables to extend. Was thinking about using an enclosure and DIN rail, with the Line DIN rail connectors. Any advice on doing this? Is this the best way to do it...
Is permissable to extend the earth conductor in t/e by soldering? I have a job where all the earths in a small extension have been cut off (lighting only) . Not really enough cable to get a through crimp on and rewire is out of the question.
hi just a couple of questions really, i am looking to put a socket on the wall for my tv and need to extend the ring circuit but is it ok to use new cable for a couple of legs of the ring circuit with the rest of the circuit being old existing cable or does the whole circuit need to be replaced...
Hi all,
I have a new 17th edition spec CU to install, replacing a BS3036 fused box. As there is no floor up or re-wiring allowed (unless there is a horror story from the PIR (being performed first), I may have to use the existing circuit conductors. My question is on the extension of these...
Hi all,
Whats your preferred and neatest way of extending cables to a CU which needs moving. Suppliers are coming in soon to move supply cable and meter ect.
Cheers.

Ok so firstly I am not a DIY'er but would like to get some info in regards to the following project.
