    EFLI - measure or calculate?

Measure. It is possible that your low current Continuity tester will indicate a sound connection, whilst the high current Loop Impedance tester will expose a possible weakness. Regards Billy

Helpful advise for clients ordering a CU change.

When i was an apprentice the Electrician I was with changed a CU. He said "powers back on now love", he gave me the 'you stick with me nipper, i'll see you right look' and a wink as the customer walked into the kitchen flicked the kettle on, listened for the scowling noise, flicked it off again...

Day from Hell ......can you top it!

That's a bloody nuisance, glad to here you got home safe and sound though. I know I'm always complaining about cost managers, but here is another fine example of what happens when "the tail wags the dog"! As above, hopefully a local breakers yard can source you a replacement for a reasonable...

    Important! Need evidence

I'm not sure I can restrain myself to be clear and concise after my ridiculously long day (it'll degenerate into a long winded moan), so I've bookmarked the link until I can express myself without sarcasm or cursing.

    2kw circular cooker element

I should have taken your advice! I drove half way round Hampshire, spent enough money to buy a new oven, cooked dinner around the parents (after doing all the things I've been avoiding), and still managed to come home to purchase one from the Internet, that subsequently will not be delivered...

    2kw circular cooker element

Oh believe me i've googled it. There used to be a place in Fareham (West St from memory), I think i'll head that way to see if it's still there. Oh don't you worry the better half is already suggesting "contingency plans"! I'll take the tools to Currys and borrow one if it comes to it :sifone:

    And so it begins..

Bit strong, i prefer freedom fighters, fighting for freedom - or Catholic oppression (possibly a lesser evil?). I think the real terrorist act here is the colluding and fixing of prices by the "big boys", and the very fact that children have never even heard of St. Nicholas, 6th of December, or...

    2kw circular cooker element

Any ideas where I could purchase a whirlpool AKZ456/IX oven element? I've found a few online suppliers, but I'd like to fix the thing in good time for our Sunday roast. Plus I enjoy actually going somewhere, to meet someone, to purchase something, not "banging it into Google 'n' see Wat...

    i really need help

Check for available courses at your local construction college, pop in to see them, and take it from there. This will take longer than the below option, but at least you can work also, and more importantly have half a chance of digesting information and asking questions. This would be my...

Pulling 16mm SWA through 150 M of conduit?

OP, There is some sound advice in amongst the absurdities, I would also recommend a Mandrel to test that the ducting is still "true". Running a mandrel of a slightly smaller size than interior of duct will save you a lot of heartache. Regards Billy

    Mobile Unit install - Cable

Are you sure this isn't referring to hook ups? such as this: Caravan Hook Up Units IP55 enclosure c/w IP44 Sockets, these have no way of achieving IP55 when the plug is removed, and will (almost certainly) be exposed to the same environment as the "mobile unit". Regards Billy
